The Serene Principality of Serendip Declaration of Existence

WHEREAS, the existence of the computer network known as the internet
has rendered national borders obsolete,

AND WHEREAS, the existence of the internet has provided for
instantaneous communication and transfer of information from
individual to individual around the world,

AND WHEREAS, the users of the internet (netizens) have created a
trans-national community which is subdividing into a series of new
and existing communities of affiliation,

AND WHEREAS, the internet is being subverted and exploited by national
governments and commercial corporations as a means of control and
economic exploitation, making it difficult for the emerging communities
to prosper and flourish,

I, David Scott Locicero, heretofore to be known as His Serene Highness, Prince-Bishop David of Serendip, do hereby Declare the Existence of THE SERENE PRINCIPALITY OF SERENDIP (SPoS), a micro-nation and extra-territorial sovereign state.

The Serene Principality of Serendip is a social experiment
of political and economic subversion, dedicated to the proposition that
all netizens are created equal and are entitled to life, liberty, and
fraternaty without governmental intrusion or corporate exploitation.

The Serene Principality of Serendip is further dedicated to the
principles of human rights, self-determination and environmental
protection set forth in the charter of the Unrecognized Nations and
Peoples Organization (UNPO).

The Serene Principality of Serendip will seek recognition by
and diplomatic ties with other micro- and macro-nations, states and
territories and governments in exile.
